Kentucky, Butler, Auburn, Wichita State & Creighton all lost last night. Duke & Maryland the night before along with Michigan, Michigan State and Arizona last Sunday. It appears that simply being "ranked" this season does not imply a team is going to have an easy road to March.

IMHO, it seems as if there are no real powerhouse teams this year. Everyone is going to have losses and will struggle at times. Not any different than what is occurring in Lawrence. We are still in good position.

Just think how Virginia feels, 3 losses in a row and no longer ranked. Quite a fall from last season.

And all those losing teams find solace in the fact that they are not the tarred heels! :P

Thanks Gov,

Virginia should never have been ranked. They are currently 52nd in the composite computer poll. They were coasting in the AP polls from their NC last season. Ohio St. is another issue all together. They were nothing if not dominant to start the season and have faded like a cheap suit. Butler's loss last night was interesting. They were due. They have been wildly consistent. It was time for a little letdown. But Butler is a very good team and definitely a top 10 team if not top 5. Auburn was living on borrowed time sort of. They are a good team but have been winning, partly by playing only a moderate schedule and partly by just barely winning in many of those games. But they are a good team as well, definitely earning a top 10 status. It does seem that parity is more dominant this season. Duke is the dominant team but obviously, not so consistently dominant that an 87th ranked Clemson can't take them down. At least' KU's losses are to the 1st, 3rd and 19th ranked teams. But we have defeated the 7th, 9th,18th and 24th ranked teams.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
