"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Self saying:
Won’t be surprised if out for year.
Only 9 scholarship players now, but bringing Mitch back won’t help will Jalen’s loss (different positions, don’t need another big).

Last point in article is one I expect to see - more Braun time!

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

Such a bummer. We've had a lot of misfortune on the injury front in recent years.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
Yeah, it's a bummer. I'd think that barring other problems, you petition for a medical redshirt for him and call it a day. 3 months means that he'd be able to play mid-February, with only a couple weeks before post season. Unless we're absolutely desperate, it makes no sense to try to work him into the system at that point, as the rotation should be pretty set. Moreover 'able' to play and 'ready' to play are entirely different things. He won't be in game shape, and would be pretty hopelessly behind the learning curve on what we're running.
Finally, having broken an ankle playing ball years ago, even when the doctor says you're ok, it takes some time before you're there mentally and feel like you can "trust" your healed part. My guess is that if he's medically cleared in early February, he won't really be back up to speed until a couple months after the season is over.
Again, that could all change if we have other problems with guard depth between now and then, but it seems to me that he's done for the year.
