Same here, except for the OT officiating. The quick foul on Culver rebounding that was clearly an over the back by Diakite (sp?) set the tone for the OT, and then the no call on the guy who grabbed Moretti’s arm as he was trying to go for the loose ball when Tech was just down 2 with time running out sealed the deal for UVA.
Credit to the Cavs, they played great D as expected and they had some ice in veins trey shooters in Hunter, Jerome and Guy that were huge for them. And when Tech didn’t make the needed plays at the end of regulation— twice, one missed shot before UVA literally tried to throw away the game after securing the defensive rebound, and the second one after — UVA made them pay. Should have been TT in regulation, but they didn’t take advantage of the chances they had to go home Champs.
Congrats to both teams for an entertaining game, and congrats to Bennett and the Cavs for their first ever UVA MBB NC.
