“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Not surprising. He just never delivered in the one area (shooting) he was supposed to.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits”. Albert Einstein
My inside information was that Self and Moore did not get along and he was being pushed out. I knew he was gone about two weeks ago but my source, although generally reliable, is not one that I felt comfortable reporting.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
Well, I guess that's one question answered.
Here's my question though. The NCAA allows 4 years of eligibility over a 5 year period. Charlie has burned 2 in 3 years. Assuming he has to sit out for a year after transferring, that's his 4th year of 5, and will end up playing 3 years on three teams in 5 years to end his college career.
Is there a way for him to get 4 full years of playing now that he's leaving?

He's going to apply for a hardship waiver.

Do you have any insight into the SDS situation?

Nope. The Moore was the strongest rumor I had heard that was different than what had been reported. Other rumors are fairly consistent with what has been reported.
