WVU Game Observation

Only watched part of the 2nd half. What I did see was some periods of some solid defense but offense was still trailing the defense. Not as much of an expert as many others on this board. Liked ML''s energy on the defensive end.

Been on since the latest format change, was an observer for many years before that, but haven't posted much.

I would agree with your observations. This version of the Jayhawks is a very solid defensive team. Our half court offense can be a bit stagnant. Hopefully they keep getting better.

Here's my take on our offense:
- With Vick gone, we don't have a serious outside shooting threat (Grimes might be emerging as that???).
- Dotson, and sometimes others like Garrett, can penetrate off the dribble and create in the paint
- D. Lawson can create when he's not double-teamed or facing a superior defender, but gets a lot of attention from opponents because he's the leading scorer.
- It's kind of mixed bag with everyone else. Flashes and then a lot of clunkers, missed opportunities, or questionable shots.
