I disagree.

It’s called PLAYER OF THE YEAR.

Not Most Valuable Player, which by definition has ties to winning the title (although this same point has been argued in the pros since the dawn of such awards).

Dedric has lead the conference in scoring and rebounding practically all year, averaging a double-double. The last time that happened was Blake Griffin in 2008-09.

Dedric has earned it.
He deserves it.

Honest question.......

Who from KSU or TT will be POY if one subscribes to HCBS’s opinion? If there’s a tie?

I haven’t a clue.....I know our players....there are few players on other teams I can even name.

Jarrett Culver is definitely worthy of consideration. Barry Brown has been good but I do not know if he is Bid XII player of the year. There are no stats that really show defensive contribution. There are a few individual stats like steals and blocks but it requires real team contributions to be effective. I think DL has a great case for player of the year but I admit I am biased.
