Weber spends more time on the court than some starters in the Big 12. I say just once... please just once... someone on our team drive up and throw the ball at him. Not at his face or anything. Just be sure to hit him while he is out there dancing on the court directing traffic. If it hits him while he is on the court, that should be a technical.
Good intensity by KU last night. This is what we come to expect with a big game. Completely different from the TT game.
Lightfoot does not want to lose the streak. The kid give it his all every game. I wish other did as well.
I have said this before and I will keep saying it. I love D. Lawson, but he sets the absolutely softest screens I have ever seen. Many of KSUs defensive stands were enabled by his weak screens. The player would feel contact and just push through him and he would give way effectively being a non-factor. But man o man the kid is good at a lot of other things.
Grimes looked better. On several of his shots he didn't just grab and chuck. They seemed to be much more in the flow and as a consequence went in.
Solid D, by KU, but KSU helped us by not really moving the ball. I noticed it, Weber noticed it, Bilas noticed it, and we all thank the KSU players for it.
Speaking of movement. Solid movement by KU as well on offense. The energy was there and it was good. If they could only give that kind of effort on the road, we would have won a few more games and not be in this position.
This position also shows us how spoiled we are. Can you imagine being spoiled so much that we are actually upset because we might not win the Championship. That is how high our standards are. Perhaps unreasonably so. Think about all the other teams in the nation and what most of them wouldn't give to have a season like we are having. It really is special that we are so spoiled.

good points all. In Lawson's defense, you can run a bulldog all day long, but you're not gonna turn him into a greyhound. He is a skilled and very smart player, but he is not physical at all. Soft screens, sometimes soft defense, it is who he is. Mitch is the only one who sets good screens on this team, and even he isn't all that good at it.
But...speaking of Mitch, how I enjoy watching guys like him play! Great hustle and energy. Always helping the team by doing the little but critical things. The stars are great, but the Lightfoots, Kevin Youngs, and Jamari Traylors will always be my favorites.
And oh yes, you are 100% correct about Weber. He is out there all the time. Very annoying.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
As you noted, several people commented on the lack of crisp passing for KSU. But in my eyes, Seth Greenburg got it right. KU was playing the passing lanes and forcing them to dribble. That is why the PG led the team in scoring.

They didn't adjust. They stood around adn didn't try to get a different angle on the play.
Compare that to how KUS was keeping all our players in front of them beyond the three point line for long stretches. The first thing I thought of was why don't we go back door. And the first thing the second half, two back door plays. Made them adjust there D and opened up other things.
KU took away the passing lanes, but KSU didn't move or adjust to it.

Like Corpus, I agree with Seth Greenberg. Last night KU played great D, and when KSU tried to adjust, KU adjusted. Excellent on ball D, sharp switching, making KSU beat them from the arc -- and sometimes KSU did, but not enough to make a difference.
I was so impressed with the tough D. I've been waiting to see play like this for a long time.
I still remember Mario commenting that the Morrii & Co played sweet O, but they didn't play great defense.
These guys are showing what they can do.
Question now is can they do it for 3 more games in a row while scoring enough points to make a difference?
