Much was said the past couple days about our disappointment in the team coming out so flat against TT in such an important game.
Well, it seems like that's just what happens when you put talented, but still young and maturing men in a pressure situation.
KSt had arguably it's most important opportunity since 1976 (the last year they won the conference outright) to beat KU, in Allen FH, to sweep us for the season, to lock up at least a share of the title, to likely win the title outright, and finally hang a banner for something more important than making it to the sweet sixteen.
And they bombed. Their two studs had awful nights, and they looked emotionally dead and mentally out of it from the start.
This is why I prefer college athletics to pros. You see talent, but you also see the maturation process and how it affects the players, and how they ultimately learn to handle the pressure.
It's going to be a wild ride over the next two weeks.

I think there is a big difference between the way KSU played last night and how we played against TT.
We came out flat, got punched in the mouth and then whimpered about it the rest of the game.
KSU came out with energy (some of there defensive stands were impressive) we came out a bit hotter after two quick timeouts to calm the players and then took it to KSU. Yes a couple of their players "bombed" but they did have energy and they did play hard. KU did not against TT, in my opinion

I think KSt's performance may have been worse than ours.
TT unloaded fury on us and punked us. Yes we folded and quit, but TT was dominant and impressive.
We didn't punch KSt in the mouth like TT did to us. Heck, we didn't even score for the first five minutes last night. I'm trying to be very positive this season, but to be honest, when we're excited that Grimes actually made a few shots and one free throw, and our best player was Mitch with a few blocked shots, that's not a dominant performance, and KSt had much more opportunity to fight back than we did against TT.
One run of energy and solid play from KSt and they could have been right back in the game. They never gave that effort.
