U-G-L-Y we ain't got no alibi
We played tired. We played as if there was no urgency.
TT played with energy. They played with aggressiveness. They rebounded. They moved with purpose.
KU was soft in every phase. Grimes was a non-factor. He still just jacks up his shots.
Dotson tried. But it was too much. I am glad he sat out the end of the game as we will need him on Monday.
D. Lawson continues to set soft screens and was a non-factor on the boards or scoring.
Agbaji was completely taken out of the game and was a non-factor.
TT was on fire from three and that opened it up inside later. Their aggressive defense was clean, unlike WVU's defense. I was really impressed how they got to where we wanted to go before we even knew we were going there. They had energy and they had a plan. On offense they were effective in creating open shots with a wide variety of sets.
It is disappointing that we had an entire week to practice with the Championship streak on the line and we came out flat in every phase of the game. Horrible, horrible performance.
We have to beat KSU and then hope two things happen. Someone else beats KSU AND ISU beats TT at the end of the season.
Did I mention that they were flat in every phase of the game, they were out hustled, outmuscled, out rebounded, out played, and perhaps out coached.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
I thought we looked pretty good.....until the opening tip.
I knew this was going to be a tough game, but I didn't expect it to be a total flop as it was. Self obviously threw in the towel toward the end when he had all the starters out.
Here's the worst part: say KU wins out and by some miracle Tech and K-State lose some games and we walk away with a share of the title. I don't think it will "feel" like we won it like it has the previous 14 times.
