They fall to third in the DPPI. Gonzaga should be the No. 1 team next Monday. They actually deserve it even though they play in the West Coast Conference. They are actually a very good team more than capable of winning it all. If the committee used my DPPI the breakdown would be

ACC - 9 teams
Big 10 - 9 Teams
Big 8 - 8 Teams
SEC - 7 teams
American - 3 teams
Pac 12 - 2 teams
Big East - 2 teams
Mountain West - 2 teams
Southern - 2 teams
West Coast - 2 teams
22 conferences - Champion only

Duke without Zion is still a good team, but they're a totally different team. At this point, you almost have to throw the past stats out the window because the data is based on a healthy Zion Williamson.

Of course, if it's a minor sprain as they're reporting, and he's back in action quickly, nothing changes. If, however, he misses a lot of games, Coach K is going to have to do a major re-tooling of the team just as HCBS has had to with the loss of DeSousa, Dok and Vick. The difference is that HCBS was able to do this work in January and February where there's still time to make changes and have them settle into place. K doesn't have the the luxury of time with March only a week away.

Gotta wait and see what happens with Zion, but if he's out for a prolonged period, it could even effect how they're seeded.

Don’t forget, Kruzerooooski is a genius and magician. HCBS needs months to retool a team, all Krzxcmnoptry needs is a laying on of hands and all will be well.

I feel sorry for the student athlete, not for duke or Kjrzdfpkmrske.

I read that K seemed visibly upset today on his daily walk across the campus pond on his way multiply bread and seafood at Duke's dining hall. Poor fella.

First and foremost, don't even THINK about sending me the bill for your keyboard or for "cat dry cleaning".

Between the treasure trove of Nike jokes and a full Bible's worth of Coach K jokes, (ok, only ONE Testament) we could start a comedy website.

Kudos to Corpus for coming full circle to tie it all together...shoes, feet, K as Jesus...well done.

In terms of all-time wins, a Duke victory would have been helpful.

Good point Doc. Now seems as good a time as any for me to reiterate who I root against in games like this where I want both teams to lose.

Option 1: The Meteor. With Duke / UNC my best option is the meteor. This means that I'm rooting for a meteor to fly in from space, hit the stadium, and leave nothing but a smoking hole.

Option 2: Since the meteor is a low probability outcome, the NEXT best option is for the home team to LOSE (not the same as rooting for the visitors to WIN). When the home team loses you get to see the dissapointed, angry, and sometimes distraught reactions of the home crowd. You get to observe the emotions of 15,000 fans turn negative. If you're lucky and it's a really important game, the camera might present the observant viewer with a shot of the very elusive and rare "crying cheerleader" shot. If you're EXTREMELY lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the even more rare "crying MALE cheerleader".

I'd really like to see a crying cheerleader in Lubbock tomorrow.
