Zion' Knee

I would be very surprised if Zion Williamson didn't tear his ACL tonight in the UNC-Duke game. At his weight, the 'turn' of his right knee almost certainly damaged one, and probably 2 ligaments. It looked bad, and it pretty well sums up this year for several top tier teams. Injuries are this year's storyline. As much as I hate Duke, and am daily reminded of the alter that Duke occupies in the eyes and minds of the media and the networks, it's a shame this kind of thing happened. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I don't think so. This almost certainly takes Duke off the top line. It will make for a much more interesting NCAA.

I feel for the young man and hope he recovers quickly and fully.

But the smart guy in me wants to make some kind of comment about being a Nike school after all of the drama Adidas has put us through this year.

Dr. K...er...Coach K....says it's a minor sprain. Of course you have to take any PR coming from Puke with a grain of salt. For all we know, they amputated his leg last night.

The guys at Nike are apparently in a full blown panic over this, and I don't blame them. That ripped shoe video can't be good for business. Whichever 9 year old in the Philippines sewed those shoes together is being docked a full month's pay...or $4...from what I hear.
