“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Playing most of OT with Moore, KJ, and McCormack to go with Agbaji and Dotson.
Wow. Just. Wow.
Gutsy.

Gutsy and fortunate. If we want to keep the streak alive this was certainly a must win, and we win. Very thankful!

Agreed, though at times we created our own fortune. A case in point: the monster rip-away rebound by McCormack off the TCU free throw miss late in OT. That would’ve been a bunny for them (and likely an and-1 since EVERY shot they put up seemingly resulted in a KU foul). I think that was the pivotal point in OT.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
So many clutch plays.
And Big Dave McCormack -- his stat line is not at all impressive, but if he doesn't step up to pick up where Mitch left off, KU does not win this game. They kept driving at him and he kept stopping them, sometimes with a block, sometimes an altered shot, sometimes forcing a kick out, sometimes fouling but stopping the shot ... did they ever score over him after Mitch fouled out? I don't recall them doing so.

No doubt. Didn't mean to take away from our guys. Monster rip-away rebound was a great description.
