"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
The announcers made a good point on Saturday. Grimes was a top 10 pick and allegedly a one and done. Nevertheless, the high school rankings aren't necessarily a good guess as to who is ready to go pro. Based on what I've read, Grimes was among the top 10 best players in high school last year, but that doesn't necessarily equate always to an instant pro.
I think that we've all reset our expectations with Grimes, I also think that Self and Grimes have reset their expectations, which is what really matters. Grimes is likely no longer thinking about impressing the NBA scouts in anticipation of heading off to the draft. By resetting that expectation and now working on improving his ability to work in the system, and with the expectation that he'll have all summer and next season to blossom, the pressure is off a little and I think it might be helping him play a little more loose.

Let me emphasize (because others I have communicated made this mistake) that this mock draft is for 2020, not this year.
