Plus-Minus for the Texas Game (same ol' same ol')

Seriously, I am not making this up. You can check the numbers. It seems that no matter win or lose, LaGerald Vick is always negative in +/- delta. That simply means that the team did better with him on the bench. Now I have repeatedly said that the +/- is a stat with cautious utility. It is less meaningful over a single game and becomes more meaningful as the season progresses. But geezz louise. Vick is consistently negative in +/- as is Grimes. This game it was all Agbaji and Dotson with a strong showing from Garrett. Agbaji had a +/- of 2 in 34.8 minutes. And he was in at the end when UT scored 6 straight on FT's. Without that, Agbaji had a +/- of +6 which means that in the 4 minutes he was on the bench we were outscored by 8 points. In the 29 minutes Dotson played, we actually outscored Texas. That's right. We outscored Texas by 4 in those 29 minutes and in the 11 minutes he was on the bench we were outscored by 14 points. Right now our weakness in that we can only put 4 players on the court that can play both ends effectively. A good team needs at least 5 if not 6 or 7.
