3 shot clock violations and he’s had the ball in his hand each time. Defended he’s nothing, looks hopeless.
And his man keeps hitting 3s
And his man keeps hitting 3s

"When you have a ruling class that doesn’t believe in — or even much like — the fundamental values of the nations it rules, things tend to work out poorly.”
Glenn Reynolds
Grimes is worse. Tonight he was on the floor for 20 minutes. 3 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound, 1 steal and 1 turnover. He took 5 shots and hit 1, his first. How could anyone have done less? Why is he playing? Just as a strange factoid, David McCormick had more assists in his 9 minutes than everyone except Dotson. We are not a good team at this point.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
I'll excuse Grimes (a little) because he's a freshman and climbing the learning curve. There's no excuse for a senior like Vick to be this hapless.
I actually think McCormick could help us. At the very least if he focuses on rebounding, setting picks, and defensive rim protection, it might take some pressure off Lawson. Hell, he's got 5 fouls to give, I'd let him go use them. Not intentionally, of course, but sending a few guys to the line to "earn 'em" wouldn't kill us, if the process also resulted in some intimidation, altered shots, putbacks, etc.
At this point, we might as well throw out the gameplans and start over.

I hesitate to dip my toe into this pool, since I’ve NEVER coached a second of even “pee wee basketball,” but.........
Since NotO mentioned starting over, I have been wondering if we swallow our pride and play who we have to build for the future. Let the newcomers play to develop their synchronicity. Vick graduates, so sit him and let the “future” have at it.
Sink or swim. We are sinking. I don’t like to lose, but I hate looking pathetic.
We need to suck it up. We are going to lose at home. Accept that #15 is not gonna happen. We may not Survive the first game of the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments. I will live with that.
Whatever......

Definitely need some inside presence. Dok's loss really has turned an offense that was not exactly a well-oiled machine to begin with into a clunker. Not to mention the issue on the boards. I hope to be very wrong, but I'm not sure how these guys score 55 points against either Tech or K-State. Watching Vick, Grimes, and to a lesser extent due to few minutes, Moore, has become increasingly painful.

Honestly, let's start chucking threes, with no repercussion from coach Self. Live or die by the three, and maybe with some freedom comes smoother shots. We've actually been effective in late game situations making a couple threes, when the shooter knows he has to shoot a three and isn't worried about getting yanked out.
I can't take watching our guards run the weave or now just pass around the perimeter without the weave, waiting for our bigs (??) to get position for an easy shot.
Gotta get Grimes, Vick, OA and Dotson creating outside offensive pressure or poor DLawson will get swallowed up inside.
