Friends, strangers, and family have all told me I have a weird sense of humor. (More an accusation than a statement, really.) Keeping that general consensus in mind, I wish to apologize for my sarcasm regarding this year's basketball team. It has bordered on mean, and that is not fair. We have an inexperienced point guard who will be great one day, an injured Doke, a freshman who still has time to bring his game to the level of what is expected, a hard working, hustling Garrett, a consistent "double-doubler"
in Lawson, and an important player who is languishing on the bench. We also have Vick, who, unfortunately, has become inconsistent in his contribution to the team, for whatever reason. None of the players on the court play badly on purpose, and none of them wants to lose. My comments suggest that they do both, and I am sorry. I need to remember that three starters never played together before this season.
From this point on, I will keep my so-called sense of humor in check, and I will focus on the positive things this group has done and how much better it will become throughout the year.
I do love the Jayhawks!

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
Just for the record, Murph, never once has it even crossed my mind that you had anything other than love for the Jayhawks. I can't recall a single time reading your posts that I had anything other than appreciation for your posting. But I appreciate the sentiment anyway.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
I third Corpus' comments seconded by Wheaty!

If Murph is going to cut out the negativity, I plan to step up my negativity to fill any gaps.
Kidding of course.
Seems like there's been a funk hanging around Jayhawk nation for quite a while, and I really want it to go away. It's been a rough season and the result is a team that is struggling.
Hope that the guys are refocused after the UK game and are ready to turn a corner. I'm optimistic that we can make a new start now, and finish strong.
Let's go beat the crap outta Texas and get this thing on track.

No worries Murph. We all know you, like the rest of us, just want the best for the Hawks. We always want them to never make mistakes and play great. I have to agree with Teddy, us critics really do not matter. All the credit goes to those that are actually competing. Whether they win or lose you know it means more to them than it does to us and they are trying as hard as they can. RCJH
