“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

This version of the Jayhawks is exasperating to watch at times. And I see no upside.

Not sure there is one. Too many guys who have talent, but are limited or one-dimensional. Double Lawson, pressure Vick and make him dribble, and dare the other guys to beat you. Don't think there's any doubt that's what K-State and TT will do.
May not score 55 in those games. No flow on offense tonite, terrible shot selection in the second half, and no big man. Dok (or Silvio) might have made a big difference in this game. But this is a team that collectively doesn't shoot well at all. The score tonight would have been much worse if Kentucky hadn't shot so poorly in the first half. Ah well, on to Austin.

It’s very tough when two crucial bigs Self and the team were counting on are both out. Add to that all of the lost outside scoring from last year, and it’s a recipe for a less-than-stellar year.
If i keep my expectations low, perhaps they’ll surprise on occasion. But barring Silvio coming in (not sure even that’s sufficient) or a miracle on the perimeter, I think it’s shaping up to be just an average year, by KU standards. (Decent year for many programs, average year for an elite one like ours) Hope I’m wrong.

and apparently no bench now either. Mitch and Moore didn't play, if I remember correctly, and KJ got in for one play. So there is basically Agbaji and McCormack, both of whom show great energy but often appear rather lost.

I find myself watching the games while wearing sunglasses for 2 reasons:
1). The games get damn ugly; and
2). I still have hope that all of HCBS’s teachings will dawn on theses guys. Can you imagine the FLASH if that ever happens?
(Sigh)

"When you have a ruling class that doesn’t believe in — or even much like — the fundamental values of the nations it rules, things tend to work out poorly.”
Glenn Reynolds
Dotson won't shoot from 3, Giles is ..............terrible, Garrett cannot shoot at all regardless of his 3 game exhibition, Vick is a beta male, and Dedric is an amaing complementary player without a team to complement. Add Doke today and we win. Add Silvio and we might have won. Doke isn't going to reappear, and I fear that Silvio will never reappear. In short, this ain't much of team. There is still enough individual talent, and they still might win the league, but beyond that there is little to hope for.

I think to match up with Kentucky we need Silvio. They really overpower the Hawks in the paint. I am not sure what to say about only 9 assists as a team. I just hope I can still see after that big flash happens when the light comes on for these freshman.
