Here are the 3 pics designed by jaythawk1's #1 Son for use in the night game pregame notes I've been posting in the pinned KUMBB AY2018-19 SCHEDULE & RESULTS thread. Please select your favorite... although I just may reserve the right to use my favorite if ya don't agree with me (and I'm not voting first, folks!):P

HawkSignal v1 Gotham skyline

HawkSignal v2 Dark Night KU skyline

HawkSignal v 3 Dusk Green Beam KU skyline

For the sake of completeness (but not for the poll) I include the HawkPhone #1 Son designed for game *day* posts (because you just can't use the HawkSignal in the daytime, now, can we Precious?).

Game Day HawkPhone

A hearty Thank You and Rock Chalk Jayhawk! for #1Son and his old Da jaythawk1!

Is there an OFFICIAL direction to which the Jayhawk should “face”?

East or West.

Inquiring minds want to know (probably ought to check a KU PR site, shouldn’t I?).

I'm not sure, Wheaty. I know the WarHawk with its fierce grimace is usually portrayed facing left/west.

I have seen Hal Sandy's Happy Jayhawk face both ways, and many examples can by found with a simple google search for Jayhawk images.

I have on my home office desk a brass Jayhawk that is still sold in the KU Bookstore that shows the grimace of the WarHawk when facing left and the smile of Happy when facing right.

Well, I looked on the brand website....downloadable Jayhawks facing either way are provided. Guess it’s all good and comes down to personal preference.

My poor old brass Jayhawk needs polishing! That baby is old!

Good night, everyone!

HE, I like them all...but the darker one has found itself as my desktop on my laptop...of course I'm a bit biased on all of them...full disclosure, the first one was mine nothing new but the Jayhawk in the light, easy peasy...the other two are my son's originals...what a kid!

What a kid, indeed, JTH1!

I too like the dark one......dark and brooding. Summon the Jayhawks to bring the light.

(Y’all had no idea I am a deep, thoughtful artiste, did you?). rme ;-)

For me, the "right facing" Jayhawk looks a whole lot more natural, as if he is heading out on the prowl to conquer more foes. I also like the brighter definition of the "dusk" pic (#3) because it gives a better definition of the skyline, which is an awesome sight.

It's Saturday morning and as I write this the poll results so far are a neck and neck horse race at 7 for #2 Dark Night and 7 for #3 Dusk.

The poll will be open for several more days, so if you haven't voted yet, step on up and cast your ballot!
