Both KU and Tech play on the road on Saturday.

KU plays at winless West Virginia.

Tech plays at Baylor where KU won and ISU (who just beat Tech in Lubbock) lost.

On paper, advantage KU in the KU/Tech race.

However, I'm starting to lean toward 13-5 winning the conference this year, and the probability of a tie being much higher than usual.

Self is 2-4 at WVU, winning the first meeting in Morgantown in 2013 and last year sweeping WVU 3-0 -- home, away and B12T.

Time to get win #2 in a row in Hillsburg.

While I don't want W.V near us, I do feel sorry for them. They have been so good for so long to be at the bottom and winless is so sad.

You got me wrong Hawk.... I want a big win too. You know me better than that!!!! I can still feel sorry for those guys. I bet they work their tails off in practice. But no win for them on Saturday!!!!!!!!!

Naw, Mom, I understood where you were coming from, I know you're KU all the way!

But unlike you, I have no sympathy for them just because it looks like it's going to be a bad year for them.

I would not rub it in any of their faces, in person or online, because I know how it feels, and in THAT respect alone I do sympathize.

Heck, all of us who are KU football fans know how it feels. Hate having salt rubbed into the wounds.

It's one thing to be a proud fan, and another to be a jerk to the fans of a losing team -- no matter how badly we may want to be to some of those fans who may have earned rebuke in our eyes.

But as a matter of principle. it is just not right to heap insult upon injury.

I'd certainly rather beat them (and risk looking like a bully) than be the only team in the conference so far to lose to them (and look like chumps).

I'm not 100% convinced that Konate won't be back and I am 100% convinced that they'll bring everything they've got, and that if we don't play better than we have, we could easily lose to an 0-5 WVU team.

I hope our guys are preparing as if WVU is one game ahead of us in the standings instead of 4 games back.

No mercy. Treat it like a business trip.
