The 4* F from 6-8 senior power forward from Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.) is down to eight schools -- KU, Boston College, Illinois, Maryland, Miami, Pittsburgh, Rhode Island and VCU.

His 5 official visits are to Illinois (Sept. 7-9), Pittsburgh (Sept. 14-16), Rhode Island (Sept. 21-23), Miami (Oct. 5-7) and VCU (Oct. 19-21).

Interestingly enough, none of Rivals, 247Sports or ESPN show him with an offer from KU, but clearly he is interested -- and thinks KU is seriously interested, even without an offer presently on the table -- as he is spending his own $ to come to Late Night.

He recently told 247Sports,com “Kansas is big in player development and I know their program will stick with me on and off the court. I’d always be a part of their family forever if I decided to go there and that gives me a good feeling.”

Shay at Rivals/JayhawkSlant doesn't have a strong feeling one way or the other for Anthony and KU and is interested in seeing how it plays out.

The 4* 2019 small forward (Rivals #35) from Rockwall TX (DFW metro) with family ties to KU (mom, brother) will visit "my dream school" this weekend instead of Late Night.

He also has officials set with Texas A&M on Sept. 8, Louisville Sept. 15, Oklahoma Sept. 22 and Texas Tech on Oct. 6.

But it is entirely possible Bill Self may have his first solid commitment for next year before Samuell makes any of those visits.

Also has visits set with UK (Big Blue Madness) and Memphis (Sep 13).

Hot Pursuers include KU, UK, Duke, Memphis, Michigan and Texas (he’s from Little Elm, about 30 miles north of DFW).

Recently decided NOT to reclassify from 2020 to 2019. There has been much talk before that decision that Duke was in the lead, but some believe KU has a puncher’s chance, so it’s Yogi time (or to borrow from Captain Steve Hiller, USMC: “I ain’t heard no fat lady!”).

Chandler Lawson Late Night official visit

The list in the origin post has been updated to include Chandler (younger brother to Dedric and KJ) and the known Rivals rankings for the visitors.

Rivals will be doing the ranking for the Rivals 2020 Top 150 this week.

The Rivals 2020 Top 150 came out today, so I have added the rankings for 2020 PGs RJ Hampton (5* #5) and Kansas kid Ty Berry (3* #121) to the origin post.

Keeping eyes and ears open for info on who else might be attending.

Had a great in-home visit with HCBS and shortly thereafter decided he did not need the unofficial visit at this time (he’s been to KU on several unofficials already). KU still high on his list.

And yes, Self is slimmed down. Perhaps a fringe benefit of moving Hawk Talk from the Salty Iguana to Johnny’s West?
