Too bad for Malik, but he's a great example of why the NBA does not want high school kids to be eligible for the draft. He was likely a first rounder out of high school. But we're seeing that size and early maturity in HS - and particularly those who focus and succeed in scoring alone - makes good players look world class. But for many young prodigies, as they age toward 21-23 years old, the others catch up in size, speed and talent, and the domination is neutralized.
He will get a chance to play in G League, and then have to work hard on becoming a better all around player.
