OM goodness. After our discussions yesterday about “pouty, entitled brats” (my words).....is Mitch A breath of fresh air or what? He KNOWS there are some “pretty big boys” (as he puts it) on this team. His skinny little self ain’t gonna get him a starting job.....but he’s doing HIS part to be ready when HCBS looks down the bench and hollers: MITCH!!!!

I still think if those boys followed me around, they’d put on weight. . Well, maybe I’d lose weight if I’d work out constantly. Yeah right!!!! AND if I was a 19 year old NCAA athlete.

Great read! I love this kid for his goofiness as a cheerleader on the bench, but especially for his no-nonsense, all business, always moving, always working demeanor on the court. Kudos to his wonderful attitude and his attention to do what is necessary to help his team. I hope we get to see him often!

From the day he set foot on campus I had this premonition he would suceed Self as head coach. I give it even more of a possibility now. Work his way to assistant over the next 8 years, spend 5 or 6 years as assistant and he’s ready. Self gets his 1000 wins and hands the keys to Coach Lightfoot. Then he will be the first KU coach to win a National Championship as a player and a coach. Hey, a guy can dream can’t he?
