With Newman and Vick leaving, only Udoka and Romeo Langford's decisions have an effect on our roster (outside of any of the other shenanigans going on; which I hate that that caveat has to be stated now
)
If they're on the fence in any way, I hope the investigation doesn't sway them.
Here's an article about Dok and his decision:

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
We might as well forget about Romeo, Port. He was almost certainly coming to KU prior to this scandal breaking, but I see less than a 1% chance of it happening now. The negative recruiting spin on KU must be off the charts at the moment.

Wow, konza, and I thought I was brooding negative about the whole FBI deal.
I prefer to keep a PMA regarding Langford. I may be acting the corny as Kansas cock-eyed optimist, but I still have high apple-pie in the sky hopes KU lands him.

I honestly don't think these kids care. They're all probably getting paid, and they really only care about getting one year to showcase their skills. One less player on the roster (if Silvio is gone) means more PT and attention for Romeo.
There is zero chance KU is suspended or penalized to any substantive degree. Silvio being here, or gone, will have zero impact on Romeo's decision.

Know way to know if he really means it or if he's just trying to stay neutral. I'd like to believe it's the former.

Is he still planning to announce tomorrow at school. Seems like it would be hard to do anything but stay in Indiana if the whole High school is there?

Langford announces tonight (Monday April 30) just after 6pm CDT.
At his high school, covered by local TV.
IU has been the guru favorite all along, we find out his choice tonight. He may surprise us and pick KU. Hope he does. Although we should be fine without him, having him would be a plus.
I will say that whoever he names tonight, I am not a fan of the way these announcements are staged. Yeah, it’s a big moment for the kid, but I’m not sure what it says about where his head is at. I much prefer seeing recruits announcing quietly. Just seems more “proper”, level headed and mature.
Off my soapbox.
Again, hope he says “Kansas” tonight.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
My gut says IU will be the choice. Primarily because he has invited everyone from the governor down to the announcement. I can’t imagine he would do that if it were Vandy or KU. If he chooses IU that is understandable. He is an Indiana kid. Hard to compete with the in-state school, especially when the family can be more present and involved. I would bet big money he is really just positioning for the NBA (like about 99% of the top 30 kids). As for KU in 2019, if we lose Silvio that will hurt but not a death blow by any stretch. Silvio really came on this year and was looking strong for 2019. But my are we loaded next season.
Likely star and possible huge national storyline — Dedric Lawson. This kid may take the Big 12 by storm next year. He was already a stud. Now that he has been Hudyfied he could be a monster.
If Dok returns he will be on a mission to develop his holes. He had a great season and the prospect for 2019 are frightening for the competition.
David McCormack looks to be a beast and will assure that in his 15 minutes per game the opponents will get no relief from physical pounding.
KJ Lawson and Mitch Lightfoot will fill out the front court and both could play 3 or 4 which is frightening how big we could play next year if we wanted to.
Big question is the point. Dotson certainly looks to be capable and Charlie Moore also can play extended minutes with quality. We will miss Devonte’ but we still look to be one of the better backcourts in the country. If Moore and Dotson cover the point, we have Grimes at the 2 or even three if we want to play small. The book on Grimes should get all KU fans pretty excited. He may be the 2nd best player on the team next year. If he and Dedric can bond on offense, we could be lethal with Dok in the paint.
Of course Marcus will be a year older and wiser and maybe Cunliffe can use that athleticism positively and make it into the rotation. Ochai seems like a prospect but you never know. WOrst case, the KC player of the year gives depth.
If Romeo comes we might be a 90 point per game team. If Self can get them to play defense, we could be lethal.

In lockstep with you on all your comments Corpus, including Romeo.
