We took 21 threes tonight. I thought we'd take 35. Given our 33% shooting that's roughly 15 more points. We could have used those.
I don't mind losing to a great team. I hate getting killed. I'm now very sick of Villanova in the tourney.

Villanova played an effective smothering defense at the 3 point line. They appeared to have an effective game plan.

I think the other team in that game tried very hard to do the same thing. It didn’t matter. Philthanova could’ve shot all their 3s left handed, while blindfolded and they would’ve went in. 55% from the field isn’t bad defense. It was just 6 or 7 guys who had a great shooting game all on the same night. Doesn’t happen very often, but it did tonight.

I'm glad you brought it up. I was yelling all night..... SHOOT THE 3 SHOOT THE 3
How many did Malik shoot? Where were his 34 points last night. Every time he ran to the basket I screamed.... NOOOOO
Was I mistaken when I (thought) I heard someone say Bill wanted them playing in the arc????? How could we compete getting 2s against their 3s... please tell me. I am sooooo very angry this morning and shouldn't be, it's EASTER..
My heart breaks for Devonte. His tears tore me apart.
We stayed with them the 2nd half. We shouldn't have gotten so far behind in the first. Bill should have been calling time out before it got away early. This was OUR YEAR!!!!!

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
It made perfect sense to try to go inside since 'Nova's center was no match for Dok. Unfortunately, they played great D and kept the ball out of his hands. As for our 3's, we were well guarded and had trouble getting looks. Throw in the fact that 'Nova made EVERYTHING for a while, there's not much you can do.
