“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Some short, some long, some leaning KU, some leaning Nova. All for your background reading...

(Note: Villanova and Michigan as fellow bluebloods? Talk about watering down the term... And I've seen this sloppiness in other articles, too)

I'm sure we'll see more of these (and hopefully more in-depth pieces) as the week goes on. Please feel free to add others to the thread as you see them.

In this link (the fourth one down on your list), I watched the video of (I think) Jason Capel providing his analysis.
Two errors to point out:
1. He says that Kansas now has won 13 straight Big 12 championships
2. Go the 40 second mark and listen to him pronounce Mykhailiuk's name. I know it's a tough one, but still, I've never seen it butchered so badly.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
I'm kind of drowning in the over-analysis of this game in the media. At this point I get it: Villanova is really good, but so are we. They have great guards and so do we. We have a better post player, but their center can draw ours outside.
Blah blah blah. Even the computers and vegas are all saying that we're a slight underdog. 90% of what I'm reading is kind of repetitive and seems to be just something to keep the college basketball writers busy so they don't miss a paycheck between Sunday and the final 3 games of the year.
Here's what I think it ALL boils down to at this point:
This waiting around stuff stinks.

Here's what I think it ALL boils down to at this point:
- Both teams are really really good
- Both teams are very well coached
- Either team could beat the other by 15 on any given night, or it could go 4 overtimes
- It's all going go come down to a bunch of unpredictable gameday stuff...who's shots fall, who's got more energy, and who gets more lucky breaks
This waiting around stuff stinks.

I believe it's the same Jason Capel that recruited Devonte'at app St. Only, extremely fortunate for us,he got fired and then they allowed Devonte' to go.Oh, and yes, his brother Jeff was on the bench as an assistant for Duke. Kind of weird that Jeff went to Duke and Jason to North Carolina. Bet those are some fun family get togethers!
