The announcers saying that there was no foul when Desousa was shoved in the head for a flagrant foul was absurd.

It is amazing how important Graham is to this team. When he got into foul trouble the wheels came off the bus. Almost a total derailment

Newman is playing fantastic ball right now. Vick is playing fantastic ball right now. I am very happy about that.

Svi and Graham have been off, but still are making solid contributions.

Free throw shooting. Graham has been missing more than he should lately. He used to be ice late in the game. Newman has been ice at the line. If we shoot poorly from the line in the next game, I am not certain we win.

I am still waiting for us to start firing on all cylinders. We haven't done it and the next game might be a frustrating one with the zones they play and how well they shoot.

only two ACC teams left. Possibly three Big 12 teams. I like that.

Foul trouble almost caught up to us. Both Graham and Dok yikes! Thankfully we had a large enough cushion to withstand that.

I thought the “wheels came off” once we thought 20 was enough. I will never forget when a certain coach whose last name may contain too many consonants, was asked what he was going to say to his players since they were up by 20. His reply was something to the effect of “why aren’t we up by 30?” Until the clock reads zero it ain’t over.

For about 8 minutes in the second half I thought we were “firing on every cylinder” we had. Then they took their foor off the gas. Playing not to lose ironically almost always leads to just that.

Foul trouble again. I can’t help but think the difference between Big 12 officiating and NCAA tourney officiating almost cost KU again. Somebody needs to get a grip on that.

Survive and advance.

Hawk. You’re 100% correct. We were on fire and could have stretched it to 30. Self sat DG and then stalled the offense. That is the one and only reason we played bad. The switch went off and we couldn’t get it back on.

I think the guys on this team are different than most teams. Most teams when you have a lead and you relax the basket becomes big and shots fall. The guys on this team, it seems to me, are much better when they feel they need to make this shot. That IMHO is why we have been good in close games but not good at winning big. Like yesterday as was noted taking DG out due to foul trouble hurt us but I think it is more than that. HCBS trains the team to play under pressure and they do. The problem can be that they have trouble making shots when they do not have the edge that you have in a tight game.
