Thanks for the article, port. I knew AZ and USC were looking at troubles ahead, and that the Pac12 had been far below its usual standard this year, but I did not realize just how bad things had gotten for the league. Wowza!

Arizona next year in particular looks to be in deep water with no life jackets and no strong swimmers. Losing its starters, no recruiting class to speak of because of the FBI investigation...

On the plus side, I doubt we will hear much more from Bill Walton on the great Pac12 this year... if he even covers another game now that all the conference members are NCAAT spectators the rest of the way.

I often use the mute button when Dick Vitale is the analyst.
For Walton, I have a double-secret mute button. He is far and away the worst excuse for whatever it is he was hired to do.

I think Walton is “supposed” to be entertaining...in his tie-dyed, pot-smoking, Cheech and Chong sort of way.

Only problem with that idea is that Cheech and Chong are actually funny, while Walton used to be a great hoops player.

Gus Johnson is entertaining. Walton needs to submit to a 5 panel before every broadcast. He can also drop the “league of champions” schtick now that his Bruins no longer hold a certain record.
