I have a friend (Paul) who is from New York. His wife is from Kentucky and he and his family (2 daughters) live in Lexington. As a whole, they're not die-hard UK fans, but they generally root for the local team. He sent me this email and I thought it was worth sharing with the board:
So yesterday was wear-clothing-from-your-favorite-college day at Emma and Adi's elementary school. They both wore UK shirts, as did an estimated 80% of their school. One boy in Adi's first-grade class wore a Kansas shirt. While he didn't do the rock chalk chant (that I know of), he did say that KU was better than UK, repeatedly. Adi proceeded to steal his lunch money (kidding). There's nothing major that happened, but I thought you'd appreciate the story. Also of note, I saw Coach Stoops at the elementary school tonight for the Spring Festival - his son goes to the school, too (and was probably not the boy in the KU shirt ).
