I cannot recall disliking a player more than I dislike Trae Young. I know I hated several punks who played for MU back in the 'day.' But this kid is so unlikable. I wonder how happy he must be today realizing that OU is going to the NIT? Worse than his selfish play, and his coaches facilitating of that selfish play, are his immature and ignroant 'opinions.' I recall his father opining that KU was the perfect kind of program for Trae, given the caliber of teammates he would have, and how much better his game would develop in that kind of environment. And I recall how awful his team looked last night. And the devolution of OU was a direct function of the reality that Trae's teammates stopped caring because of Trae's heroball. Just an immature jerk who got what he deserved in his one year of college, but will be a very rich immature jerk next year. And shame on Lon Kruger for permitting this sham of a season to occur.

So tell us how you really feel.
Can't disagree a bit, but I'd put one qualifier on it (you may disagree). I would say that I have equal dislike for old Grayson "Karate Kick" Allen from Duke. So maybe we want to single Trae Young out as "most disliked in the conference" and then create a separate "national" list. Or maybe not.
I just feel obligated to interject Grayson Allen's name into any conversation about dis-likable current college basketball players.

Interesting, but I did not find myself disliking the kid. I agree wholeheartedly that he is this year's poster child for the one and done player who's decisions were geared only toward showcasing his talent for the NBA (Simmons at LSU was last year's). But he really is exciting to watch, and actually does pass the ball to his teammates and usually finds the wide open player. I think he will be a very exciting pro.
I'm shocked by how ineffective he has become, but also agree his team has quit. I particularly think Lon let this stardom kid take control, and it killed his year.

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
We should each do a Top 5 or Top 10 "all-time most-disliked players" listing.
There are few topics on the RCB that have never been covered, but I don't think we've done that one before, lol.

Allen is a jerk, but his team wins. And he stayed 4 years. He's been one of the most dis-likable players imaginable, but remember how much everyone LOVES Duke and his teammates. If Young stayed around at OU (and I can't say that it would be to his advantage to do that) and OU developed into a top tier program, his immaturity and self absorption would become secondary. But his team's failure this year really puts the microscope on Young, and his obvious issues.

Immature kids are going to be immature kids.
I'm really disappointed in Kruger.
