Submitted for your consideration are the remaining eleven (11) UNDECIDEDS from Rivals 2018 Top 150 Recruit listing.
While our Jayhawks should not be looking past their next game next week, we are not so constrained.
This is not an unusually long or short list of undecideds for this time of year, but I thought you might be interested in who's still out there from the Top 150. And is it not nice to have our currently ranked Top 5 recruiting class for this year already signed?1 Anything else for this recruiting season will be gravy, my fine feathered friends!
RIVALS 2018 TOP 150 RECRUITS STILL UNDECIDED AS OF 2018-03-04
With Brandon Williams recently decommiting from Arizona due to the scandal in the news, there are now 3 recruits in the listing that at one point had offers from KANSAS -- #6 Romeo Langford, #37 Brandon Williams and #110 Bryan Penn-Johnson.
At present KU is already one over in scholarships available after the commitment of KCMO's top player Ochai Agbaji to our beloved Jayhawks. However, Langford is still being actively pursued by KU, which tells us that Self is expecting to in some way lose at least two more players after this season beyond seniors Svi and DG.
I have yet to read word of whether or not KU is again pursuing Brandon Williams now that he has reopened his recruitment. I can see this happening as a "Plan B" just in case Langford decides to opt for recruiting guru favorites Vanderbilt or Indiana.
I also have not seen anything lately about KU and Penn-Johnson, but a four star 7 footer is a four star 7 footer, and if Self and Co are confident that there will be two additional -- but as of yet unconfirmed -- scholarship player losses, I could see them going after Penn-Johnson as a 3 to 4 year player option.
Self & Co had recently been to see #85 SF Tevian Jones, but I have read nothing more on him being pursued by KU since Agbaji's early February commitment.
NOTES
1. Although originally a 2018 recruit, Rivals considers 5* PF Silvio De Sousa to have reclassified to the 2017 class. KU's Top 5 Team Recruiting ranking for 2018 is based upon the class of 5* Quentin Grimes, 5* Devon Dotson, 4* David McCormack and 3* Ochai Agbaji. All signed in the November early signing period except for Agbaji, who committed just last month upon receiving his offer and will sign during the regular signing period window (2018-04-11 thru 05-16).
If KU lands #6 Romeo Langford, that team ranking would go to either top 2 (second only to Duke's 4 new 5*s) or top 3 behind UCLA (who jumped to the 2 slot with the addition of one time Arizona recruit 5* F Shareef O'Neal, Shaq's son).
