Talk about utterly amazing--KU landing two kids who were both small-school commits, and back to back they progress to become the alphas of the team and the dominant player in the league (as well as amongst the most dominant in the country).
Head-shaking. And quite the credit to the heart and fight and want inside both young men, as well as the superb recruiting and coaching by the KU staff. It really does blow one's mind...

Yeah, and crazy how the developments of Tharpe played such a crucial role. If all was going swimmingly with NT, Devonte, it likely seems, would not be being discussed right now.
"I think that was part of it," Graham told ESPN on Friday, a few hours before the Jayhawks announced his commitment. "He was a big part of their program and played a lot. If he had stayed, I'm not sure if I would be going to Kansas."

I heard that said too - not sure what Boynton did that was so great - finished 8th in Big 12 - even if was picked for 10th, no biggie. Asteroid's Big 12 projection - Round 18 post showed OSU was 1.36 wins above initial projection. KSU was 3.18 wins above. HCBS needs to hope that Boynton isn't some genius, as IMHO KU will get a third try to beat OSU very soon.

Are we thinking Trae better re-think that National Player of the Year scenario. Part of me would like for the Big 12 to have the national player of the year two years running......but there is just something to me about a 4 year STUD being POY to a still wet behind the ears sharpshooter......
But you know me.....gotta score points to win but, contrary to popular opinion, I like a lot of defense along with some offense.

I listened to Jon Crispin (Big 10 network talent) this afternoon on the radio, and when asked who he thought the National Player of the Year, he said Devonte'! Nice to hear the props!
