Well another regular season final. Another conference championship. Another possible 1 seed in the NCAA. For sure no one is more consistent. No program is more dominant in their league. But is it possible that no program is more predictable?

DG should be Big12 POY no doubt. His heart and drive were unreal. Frank was awesome but he at least got a few minutes off here and there. It might be a while (lets hope so) before the streak of 40 min games is broken. There is no #14 without him in Lubbock. Another great find by the coaching staff and another really great non top 25 recruit.

Svi also turned out to be quite a find. He won us a few games but also no showed a little too much for my taste. But for such a young guy with so much hype and pressure placed on him I always thought he represented KU well. Not sure where, but the guy is going to have a great pro career.

Doke has become what we all wished he was at the end of last year. His mental toughness to get past the OU game and then really sell out for the rebounds in a few games impressed me. Again, we have to thank the great and powerful Hudy for a lot of what the Doke was this year. I am not sold the young man is truly ready for the NBA but with his “measureables” there is no way to get that horse back in the barn.

Newman. I think I will reserve the right to comment on Malik until this team is truly done for the year.

While there has been talk of Vick leaving I am just not sure. As bad as things have gotten for him, the idea of sitting somewhere for an entire year has to be pretty unappetizing for someone who is currently getting 30+ min/game for KU. He might, but his decision will be a clear indication of how bad things have gotten with him and HCBS. Hopefully, he has truly “bought in” and the remaining games will get his full attention.

Todays game was proof positive to me that HCBS is still in love with league/conference/non post season play. If there was ever a game to show his forward thinking about the post season it was today. Instead, we saw IMHO too many minutes from the starters. This game was over at the 10 minute mark in the first half. I thought Garrett and DeSousa played great today. Could have been more for them. Lightfoot, Cunliffe, and Young might have been included in my starters in the second half. Continuing to play your starters made no sense to me.

Newsflash KU fans. There is now a Big 12 coach who is committed to beating the bully on the block. I might be wrong on this but Mike Boynton might be pretty OK with going 2-16 in the Big 12 as long as those 2 games are against KU. He had his team so prepared for both games. How many backdoor lobs were there? How many easy looks on OOB plays? How many “open” looks did Svi get? Seemingly little details, but this guy has watched the film and has his guys ready to beat KU. I mean this is the same team that lost at home to TCU and Baylor and scored 66 and 56 in those games. How else do you splain that?

Onto to KC. I do hope we get a chance at redemption against the cowboys but Im not really banking on it. Hopefully the guys can get a couple of wins there and wash today out of their minds.

The gap between todays game and last week’s game in Lubbock is the reason why I would really rather be a 2 seed in the NCAA. This team could be “that” team and none of us want that. Every March Madness commercial from here to eternity will include that game and those teams. No thanks.

agree completely on that last point. But if they lose early in the Big 12 tournament, which I think is a good possibility, I don't think we have to worry about a 1 seed. And you are right about minutes played. I don't recall Devonte coming out, but the box score says he "only" played 39 minutes. Don't for the life of me understand that at all.
