Looking at the schedule, there are 2 games that have some significance in terms of final finishing spots and seeding in the Big 12 tournament.

>Baylor (8-9) @ KSU (9-8 ). KSU currently in a tie for 4th, Baylor in 5th. Since the #4 seed gets a bye in round 1, Baylor needs the win to hope to stay in that discussion (no idea how the tiebreaker situation works).

>TCU (9-8 ) @ Tech (10-7). Talk about 2 teams on two different trajectories. TCU was dead in the water a few weeks ago and now they're part of that tie for 4th. Tech has been sliding. Tech needs to get back on track or suddenly they could be sharing that 3rd place spot with TCU and potentially KSU. Again, not sure how the tiebreaker plays out, but if that's the case, and there's a 3 way tie for 3rd, one of those teams doesn't get the bye.

Other games:
>ISU (4-13) @ OU (7-10). OU's downward slide has been impressive as well, but they're still 3 up on ISU in their tie for second-to-last place. Neither an OU win or ISU win changes things much as far as our conference goes.

>WVU (11-6) @ Texas (7-10). Might be fun to watch, but the only interest here is that WVU wants this one to lock up 2nd place. If they lose, they could theoretically let Tech into a tie for 2nd.

>KU (13-4) @ OSU (7-10). Ok, this will be the game I'll watch. In reality, we don't NEED the win, but we sure WANT it. Self needs to win there and we should want the payback for them beating us in AFH. Also significant that we could get to 14 wins and 7 road wins with that win. Those 7 road wins would have to be close if not tied for the most road wins in the history of the Big 12.

Hope we win and in the process Garret and De Sousa get some more experience, and hope that Vick's pilot light comes on and stays on for the next 9 games.

Also of significance, if we want to extend Self's streak of not having been swept in the conference by any team in one year, we have to win on Saturday against the Cowpokes.

Corrections and info

First 6 seeds get first round byes since the league shrunk to 10.

Tie breaker rules

Roy’s 2001-02 team (Gooden, Collison, Hinrich and company) recorded the only perfect Big 12 conference season to date, going 16-0. Equates to 8 conference road wins. No one has had a perfect road record since the 18 game schedule started, so 8 road wins in a season is the record to date.
