He has played in 3 games (one win and two losses) and is averaging 7 points per game. Two other recent American additions (undrafted from last year) are tearing it up with averages of 27 and 17 points per game in a total of 4 or 5 games. Seems this team added a bunch of Americans late in the season. see

Thanks for the link. The one that stands out to me that is tearing it up with 27 ppg is not a young man. Dorell Wright was a 2004 draftee of Miami. Hopefully Mr. Preston can learn to be a professional and make a living for an extended time playing basketball.

Too bad.
2018 may not be any better than ‘17 for him.

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
The real operative question is why does this post/thread have 242 more views than the one about Graham winning Big 12 POY?
Bizarre... Maybe "ambulance-chasing" syndrome?

Konza - one thread 2 weeks 5 days old vs other 20 hours old. This thread would have died, but was inexplicably resurrected.
My ? is how can some national writers still posit that T Young will be National POY when Graham is Big 12 POY - yea Devonte?

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
I saw this hit the wires yesterday. Makes me want to ask Preston if it was worth it.
Not trying to be a jerk here, but my take on the whole car issue is/was that there was definitely something improper happening with it. Moreover, I think Billy and his family knew it, which is exactly why the KU compliance office DIDN'T know about it. If it was all free can clear, it wouldn't have been an issue.
So for the price of wanting to drive a cool car, he's basically blown his career. He didn't play college ball, and only played 3 games in Bosnia. Now there's an injury which may or may not be significant. He's not projected to be drafted, and might not even be invited to the combine. For a kid who was expecting to sign a big rookie contract this spring, he's now probably going to wind up someplace else in Europe, or maybe in the G-League. This doesn't end his dream of playing in the NBA, but complicates the path significantly.
As for what could have been: had Billy and his family exercised some patience and restraint, Billy would have had a pretty big role on a championship team. Had he injured his shoulder, he'd have had access to great trainers and medical staff who would have been able to figure out the problem and come up with a plan to make it better (as opposed to 2nd rate medical care in Bosnia which is why he's leaving Bosnia). Had he been ready to go to the NBA, he could have. Had he needed more time, he'd have 3 more years of eligibility, and if the NBA plan hadn't worked out, he'd have had the option of getting a degree.
I wish Billy all the best, but by accepting a car from somebody and trying to keep that information from the compliance folks, he really screwed up his plans.

I don't have much of a feeling one way or another about this kid. I'm irritated that "the car" MUST have had some "not good" significance in all of this.
I really had a horrible taste in my mouth following the short stay of Selby. Preston (except for the car) is kind of a "meh" with me. Don't consider Selby part of the "family;" feel the same way about Billy.
