They have obviously moved up but are still outside looking in ranked 73rd overall. They have 2 top 10 wins which is tied for the lead with Virginia, Texas Tech, Ohio St. and North Carolina. Amazingly, St. John's is 2-9 against top 50 teams. Truly lightning struck twice this week with St. John's. Kansas, incidentally, has 9 wins against top 50 teams which is the most of all teams. Xavier, West Virginia and Purdue have 8 each for 2nd. Kansas has the 2nd toughest SOS. While this has been a skinny season for KU in terms of winning margins and a frustrating one in terms of home losses and inconsistent play, overall, we are still in very decent shape. Just goes to show how high our standards are. UNC is 6-6 against top 50 teams. Kentucky ranks 31st and is 4-5 against top 50 teams. Duke does have a nice record of 6-1 against top 50 teams but they have 3 really bad losses (KU has 2). SO the blue bloods are all having their struggles and KU is no exception. But when you consider that Duke has 5 projected 1st round draft picks and Kentucky has 4, I think that says a lot. Long live Coach Self.
