Plus-Minus for Season - The Devonte' Graham Story

The "Most Critical" stat below is maybe the most outlier Jayhawk stat this season (the Washington game under performance is close). The difference in scoring differential from when Devonte' is in the game to when he is sitting on the bench is an astounding 0.97 points per minute. This has been like this all season. This simply screams that Devonte' can not be out of the game. Last season, Frank Mason led the team with a delta of 0.35 points per minute and that was pretty high. Rarely do you have key players that have backups that are anywhere near as effective. But right now, when Devonte' goes to the bench this team folds up. There is no one who can replace Devonte'. Svi has a delta of 0.35 which is pretty high making him pretty critical to this team as well. Dok is next at 0.25. Garrett is the only other player with a positive delta and it is pretty much zero. Newman's delta is negative but not significantly so. Vick has the most problematic delta. The team is actually doing better with him on the bench, at least in terms of outscoring the opponent, which is a relatively important stat. Vick began the year looking like he was in for a breakout season of major proportions. He has folded like a cheap blanket. I am just about to the point of giving Garrett his minutes and Garrett is not ready for prime time. Vick has been a borderline liability of late. (Okay I am overstating it but Vick has been pretty much worthless). Thank God Malik seems to finally be on track after 20 games. Can we win with 4 effective players?
