Basically what I read is if he can get into a game and go a minute or two without making any mistakes he will get more playing time. Right now he usually makes a mistake or two within the minute or two he is on the floor. I hope he can fight through this battle because he has potential to be very good.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
He sites several mistakes Cunliffe has made. Cunliffe has looked like a complete freelancer on defense. I don’t profess to understand every nuance of the defensive rotations but I think I know enough to see when somebody is almost consistently out of the position on rotations. Plus, like De Sousa, he appears to be over-compensating with trying to push everything. I am not sure he will see much time this season.

and Sam certainly won't be taking any minutes away from Garrett if Garrett keeps playing like he did today. Not only does he know where he is supposed to be and get there, but the announcers even pointed out a nice defensive play where he faked out a cash register and then stole the pass. Using head fakes on defense is fairly sophisticated.

exactly. He is a really nice piece to this team. If he can knock down a shot or 2 and keep the opponent honest watch out..

I continue to be impressed with Garrett. I just hope that Culiffe a.) eventually figures out what HCBS wants from him, and b.) doesn't get so frustrated that he transfers out.
I know Self had high hopes for Cunliffe, but sometimes what you get isn't what you think you were getting.
