FWIW, as of this morning, Massey had compiled 50 computer rankings plus three polls. Every one of the computer algorithms has the Big 12 ranked 1st. They vary on 2nd through 4th. Overall here is how it shales out in terms of average ranking of all teams in every conference for all 50 computers.

1, Big 12 (34.51)
2. SEC (50.51)
3. Big East (52.79)
4. ACC (54.71)
5. Big Ten (66.78)
6. PAC-12 (85.27)

There is absolutely no doubt. The Big 12 is far and away the best top to bottom conference in the league. Iowa St. has moved to 79th (average for all 50 computers).

Here is the total for teams in the top 60

ACC - 11
Big 12 - 9
SEC - 9
Big East - 7
Big Ten - 5
PAC 12 - 5
American - 4
West Coast - 3
MVC - 2
CUSA - 2
A10 - 1
WAC - 1
SBC - 1

That’s really neat stuff!

Now, having said that, I’d love to see it translate to significant NCAAT success this year, not just for KU, but the whole league, supporting those computer models. With KU winning it all, of course.
