Now that the team has to come to grips that BP will not be in the rotation somebody has to elevate his play. I thought that BP would be an athletic match up nightmare for other teams and I think that the only player we have now who can and should carry that mantle is LGV. I have been concerned about his performance slippage the last couple of weeks- seems to be a focus issue and I cant help but recall that he was out and about a bit last year and was connected to some of JJs issues. Here’s hoping he “gets his head on straight “ and goes all in for the team.

I too am concerned about LaGerald. Clearly Bill Self has sent some massages to LaGerald and if that has bled over into the public realm by pulling him as a starter, you can bet it is 10 times as much in the private realm. I don’t have enough knowledge to know if LaGerald’s woes are from attitude, aptitude or work ethic. He has shot the ball really well and he has shown he can sky for rebounds effectively. He simply disappears from games and appears to going about 75% way too often. To me (and this is pure conjecture) he is showing signs of wear and fatigue from battling with his small frame against bigger stronger guys. He is athletic and quick but having played a little ball in my day, I know the debilitating effect of having big bodies pound on you night in and night out. It has a cumulative effect. Is he simply wearing down from the practices and games? Or is it something else. What I do not think is a mystery is that his play has been at a lower level for the last 6 games.
