I thought this was an interesting take by Jesse Newell. Was at the game yesterday. The players looked spent (physically and emotionally) and me thinks the Billy Preston issue had a lot to do with it. It reminded me a little of the Texas game a few years ago (no comparison for the cause). Bottom line, the team can now move on and practices will be better geared to the next game and not, how are we going to incorporate BP into the team.

Good stuff, Hoshi. Concur completely.
PS: How's your heart after yesterday's live experience?

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Have to agree with both you and Newell, hoshi, and thanks for the link to the article. I think you both have hit the nail firmly on the head. Now that Preston is settled, the guys can focus on being the best they can be. And if Self is right about DeSousa's "help" timetable, we may be an even better team down the stretch than we have been so far this year as our youngsters grow into their roles helping our greybeards. And who knows, with the extra practice time under his belt, we might even see more James Sosinski if Dok and Silvio and Mitch run into major foul trouble. (I know, I know, but I just like the kid and hope he can do well if the chance presents.).
Also second Konza's question to you -- how ya tickin' after yesterday?
I know my heart was hammering and I was hollerin' "KU wins!" when DG corralled that last rebound, even before he hit the 2 FTs.
"Cardiac Hawks" indeed!

Thanks for both your concerns re. heart. I think I am now in much better shape that I was before the stent and bypass surgery. My stamina is completely back and since retirement I am dedicating at least one hour a day to work out and exercising. Have managed to drop 15 lbs and am now within 4 lbs of what I weighed graduating from HS. Have had a great experience at the cardiac rehab unit at LMH. So, feeling great.

HE:
It would be great if you could elaborate on this part (what you've seen or heard from Self), as I'm not familiar with anything communicated on that front:
"...if Self is right about DeSousa's 'help' timetable, we may be an even better team down the stretch than we have been so far..."
Thanks!

Excellent news, hoshi!

Konza -- all I was referring to was Self's repeated comments in his pressers since Silvio arrived that he didn't really expect Silvio to be ready to be a real contributor during games until we got into February.
