Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
Kansas currently sits 9th in the DPPI. We have the 4th toughest strength of schedule.
Vs. Top 10: KU is 0-1 against top 10 (Texas Tech). The best record vs. top 10 is Florida. Florida is 2-1 vs. top 10 and the only team with 2 wins against top 10 teams. The worst team to defeat a top 10 team is not Washington (ranked 115th) but Wofford, ranked 154th with a victory over North Carolina.
Vs. Top 25: KU is 2-2 against top 25 teams. Oklahoma has the most wins against top 25 teams going 4-1. Villanova, Texas Tech, Duke, NC State and North Carolina all have 3 wins against top 25 teams.
Vs. Top 50: KU is 5-3 against top 50 teams. North Carolina has the most top 50 wins going 6-3.
As I said, Kansas has the 4th toughest SOS. North Carolina has played the toughest schedule to date followed by Tennessee, Temple, Kansas, Alabama, Texas A&M, Xavier, St. John's and Arkansas to round out the top 10. As conference season progresses, the Big 12 teams will continue to climb in SOS.
The Big 12 is easily the best conference in the DPPI with an average rating of 87.6 followed by the Big East and ACC tied at 85.8, the Big Ten at 85.1 and the SEC at 84.7. The Pac-12 is a very distant 6th at 80.7. Gonzaga is a very good team but it is really a crime that they play in the West Coast with an average rating of 75.4.
Purdue is first in the DPPI with a rating of 89.19 edging out Villanova by a nose at 89.07. These two teams have really separated themselves. Virginia is a distant 3rd at 87.88. The 13th through 20th place teams are packed in tight with 3/10ths of a point separating them. This includes West Virginia (14th) and Oklahoma (18th).
NCAA Tourney: If the DPPI were used to field the NCAA tourney bracket, 8 Big 12 teams would make the tourney. They would be;
Texas Tech - 2 seed
Kansas - 3 seed
West Virginia - 4 seed
Oklahoma - 5 seed
TCU - 6 seed
Texas - 9 seed
Baylor - 11 seed
K-State - 11 seed
