Conference Ratings

The Big 12 is crazy strong this year. Based on my DPPI they have an average rating of 83.9. The ACC is 2nd at 82.8. Some will argue that the top of the ACC is better than the top of the Big 12 and that is a very strong argument. The ACC has 10 teams in the top 44 and 13 teams in the top 73. The Big 12 has 9 teams in the top 54 with Iowa St. at 90. BUt the ACC has some weaker teams as well. So an average SOS for a Big 12 team is going to be a bit higher than the SOS for an ACC team. This always reminds me as well that Gonzaga's annual record is simply not as impressive considering their SOS considering the strength of the West Coast conference.
