Comment about Perry Ellis tonight...

Did anyone else here the comment by the announcer stating that KU always has guys that just fill roles? He said something similar to "They get guys like Perry Ellis that can set some screens and rebound." Uh what!? Perry was phenomenal! He was about the most important player on one of our best teams and really probably could have played for a National Championship had we not been paired up against Nova! I just thought it was a funny comment. Maybe he was just grasping for a name when he made that comment.

I did hear that and thought the same thing. I'm not a huge fan of Dakich. It even seemed that the play-by-play guy was trying to keep him in check throughout the course of the game.

No you didn't miss anything. Not sure why those guys announced the game. Maybe it was supposed to be our Christmas gift. HAHA

I missed him mentioning Mr Perry Ellis but I did hear him mention Kevin Young as an ex-Jayhawk that did all the dirty work. Another thing I have heard brought up about this team besides the lack of a guy to do all the little things is the lack of true sure fire NBA talent on this team compared to previous years. I think that is a bit overblown. We have had some years where our talent level was not better than other teams in the Big XII but we found a way to win. This years team looks like it has a lot of very good college players but besides Doke who is still very raw I am not sure who will play in the NBA. I would like to see them all make it to that level but non of the guys playing right now are sure fire NBA guys like Josh Jackson or Kelly Oubre.
