Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
Most points given up – 123 against Billy Tubbs Oklahoma team in 1/1989
32 times before KU has given up 95 or more.
Only twice before has KU given up 95 or more in Allen Fieldhouse. Once by a Self team to Oklahoma in 2016 and that was a 3 overtime game and once to Kentucky in 1989, but we scored 150 so that doesn’t look too bad. So it is safe to say this game was the second worst defensive performance at home in KU history.
26 of the 33 times we have given up 95 or more we lost and 7 we won
Billy Tubbs OU teams have scored 95 or more 7 times
Last non-overtime game where we gave up 95 or more was to Iowa St. in Ames in Feb 2016 when we gave up 96but we won. Last non-overtime loss was in 2002. Of the 4 times a Bill Self coached Jayhawk team gave up 95 or more in a non-overtime loss was …..never. This is the first.
Bill Self has lost 3 in a row against the Pac 12. We have Stanford coming up in a couple weeks. Let’s hope we break that streak.

Losing at home is such a rarity, that anytime it happens it is shocking. This team has flaws and shortcomings that won’t be fixed until they get more bodies. All said, the fan in me can’t accept giving up 95 pts to a PAC -12 team coached by a freaking dookie coach at AFH. This is unholy and unacceptable, come on Hawks let’s rally and get the ship righted. Btw, all dookies are tainted and evil, Hurley is/was the epitome of the whiney, privileged dookie.

RKCKJHK!!!
This game felt all too familiar. A good to very good team had the game of their lives against KU. David vs Goliath, upset of the season/year/decade...whatever. How many times do you see a team shoot 50% from 3 AND from the field? Add to that KU only attempted 9 FTs? And no, I dont think that was the refs. One guy, Vick took 6 of those attempts! Anyone hear of a shot fake and drive? I think this team is in love with, wants to marry and have kids with the three point shot.
Also as bad as I hate to admit it, Hurley just might be a pretty good coach. Yeah, I just puked a little in my mouth too. But I don’t think that’s too far off base. He might have learned a thing or two from a guy he calls dad. Hate him or love him there is no doubting that guy CAN coach. ASU might also be a pretty good team. Its pretty clear their guard play is good and that is going to trip up more teams than KU.
I sure hope Malik is OK. That looked pretty ugly.
Getting some more bodies will help, but this team needs a little less Jeff Boschee and a little more Sherron Collins.

Agree completely on this line.....
"this team needs a little less Jeff Boschee and a little more Sherron Collins." I would argue that they need more Russel Robinson. They need our Guards to be able to get up in the face of the other teams guards without getting blown by.

Agreed on RussRob. Kid came to KU a little young and immature and grew up before our eyes. By his senior year he was a defensive assassin. Throw in Darnell Jackson (my fave all-time Jayhawk), Sasha Kahn, one of the most mature and good guys to don a Jayhawk uniform, Mario a true competitor, Shady a silent assassin, and of course Sherron a young bulldog, that team was ready to play almost every night. Another true competitor was Tyshawn Taylor. He took 4 years to realize his full potential but what a competitor. And Hinrich was another one that wasn't super demonstrative but let his intense play speak to his fire. Another in that mold was Jacque Vaughn. Jacque was super mature and level headed but was a fierce competitor. Maybe the biggest bulldog was Rex Walters. The list could go on. But this 2017-18 team has not shown that fire on a consistent basis. WHERE IS THE FIRE?? I am sure these guys are competitive but there are times when you need a little fire and attitude.
