I listened to the game on Sirius which for reasons unknown did not have a KU broadcast. The SU radio guys were repeatedly impressed by Lagerald Vick on both ends of the floor. They also spoke highly of Graham’s abilities at point guard. Oddly enough with around 6ish (maybe 5ish) minutes left in the game Vick had a dunk and one of the SU guys declared the game over. Maybe this was a set play? It was interesting listening to the opposition broadcast and I was spared Vitale.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
I was forced to listen to Vitale. I am out of the country and had to watch on subscribed ESPN. When I though Vitale couldn’t get any worse, he did. I can handle his supposed Duke or East Coast basis and I can tolerate his miscalled about game strategy plays. But the thing that annoys me most about Vitale is his almost constant discussion about everything other than the game. In a typical Vitale broadcast you get about 40=50% of his commentary or shale I say name dropping, on all the beautiful people he has met and other things he is involved in. Last night we heard more about Frank Sinatra then we did about LaGerald Vick.

I think all in all it is a good thing when all we can really complain about is the carnival barker. I think it would have been much better to listen to the Syracuse announcers than Mr. Vitale but I did not. The one thing that I was not happy with, because I used the mute button, was we did get out rebounded slightly. There were a lot more defensive rebounds because the Orange did not shoot the ball well. They had 15 offensive rebounds and that is something we need to keep an eye on. Other than Doke we are not a tall team and we need to really work for our rebounds.

I was actually not that concerned with the rebounding differential. First of all, they average about 3 inches taller across the board. Secondly, their game plan focus is to rebound. We are a decent rebounding team for our size. There are some teams we are going to likely lose the rebound battle to. But we can use that to our advantage in ways. We will minimize fast break points against us and we will generally be more set in our half court defense. We do have to maintain vigilance against giving up offensive boards. It seemed that quite a few of their offensive boards were on long rebounds off 3 point misses. I don’t ever want to lose the rebound battle but against some teams in certain types of games it is less concerning.
