It has been pointed out that KU switched from a perimeter dominated shot selection against Texas SOuthern to inside the arc against Oakland. It is not so much that we were 3-point crazy against TSU as it is that we really went inside in a big way against Oakland. You can see from the lower table which is annual that in the first 12 years under Self the Jayhawks attempted 29.4% of shots from inside the arc. The last two seasons we have attempted 34.5% from outside the arc. Clearly the Jayhawks style has changed in the last two seasons. This season it is even more marked. We are shooting 40.1% from outside thus far this season. Against Texas Southern we stepped that up even more shooting 46.2% from outside. Against Oakland that dropped more than half to 22.9%. The 77.1% of shot attempts inside the arc is higher than all but one game last season (Siena). I think as long as Self is coach the Jayhakws will look to go inside but based on the trend the last two seasons, Self has clearly let these guys have the green light. With our personnel I suspect we will continue to shoot 35% of attempts or more from outside the arc.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
