Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
Kansas has been in 164 straight AP Polls and 49 straight top 10 polls. That is pretty impressive. But neither are close to records. KU's most consecutive weeks in the top 10 was from 3/7/94 to 12/15/98 (76 in a row). The current streak of 164 in a row in the poll is the best ever for KU. 6 teams have exceeded the 164 straight
UCLA (221)
North Carolina (171 and 172)
Marquette (166)
Kentucky (164)
Duke (167 and 200)
If KU stays in the poll all season we will pass North Carolina, Marquette and Kentucky as well as one of Duke's runs. The consistency under Bill Self has been extraordinary.
Below is the summary of the AP polls since Self took over at KU. Only Duke has been more present in the AP Polls. Since Self came to Kansas, there have been 272 AP Weekly Polls. Kansas has been in 248. We have only had two seasons where we were not in every poll. 2004-05 and 2008-09.
