Who wears short shorts?
We wear short shorts.
Murphy....some scrambled hair-dos again this year.
Bittersweet seeing #0 out there so soon......
As our guys were puttin’ some whup a** on PSU, I wonder if they felt as totally outmanned as our football team must feel on Saturday’s?

I did not get to see the game due to cable deal. I see good numbers for Dok but I am curious if those are a good indicator of how the game went. I remember some of our better big guys have not fared well against the DII teams. You would think the size advantage would be huge but I was never happy with how Jeff or Cole played against them. Anyone see the game and care to express an opinion?

We had a lull in the second half--maybe the Gorillas just started defending--but overall I think our bigs did very well. Lightfoot was very active, blocked shots, and was effective, especially on defense. Preston didn't play much if at all second half but he's very exciting and explosive. I had an interruption and didn't see some parts but I think he had a minor injury. I was impressed with everyone. Garrett is going to be a real force with his natural skill on offense. Svi had a much better game than with MU--good average 3-point shooting and his defense was great, I thought. Newman is also a great addition to this team. He's a fearless shooter. Vick was amazing--he had a double double, and he wasn't the only one although I don't remember right now who else was. He came flying to the hoop to make put-backs--brought the crowd to their feet more than once and had great comments from the announcers. Graham is the leader he was meant to be with great vision of the court, where his shooters are, and when to take the three pointer. And Doke, of course, was thrilling to watch. He has slimmed down and moves very well under the basket. He didn't foul out, so we may not have to worry about that too much. He has work to do on positioning under the basket so he'll be where he needs to be to catch the ball and shoot it, and he has a big man's heavy hand when it comes to free throws!
I was impressed by the starters from our list of new players. Each seemed confidant and quite skilled enough to make an instant impact. Can't imagine what it will be like next semester with Cunliffe on the squad and also when the Lawson brothers become eligible. HCBS and staff worked their recruiting magic with this crew, for sure!
I know you asked mainly about our bigs, but wanted to give you my thoughts, for what they're worth, on everyone.

Thanks Murph hopefully this team will continue to improve like all HCBS teams. I am hoping the pundits in the future recognize how impressive 13 conference championships in a row while in a power 5 conference really is.

My pleasure, HH. This team has impressed me more than any other at this juncture. With good chemistry and continued hard work, they could present us with a very satisfying season. I'm with you about getting the deserved recognition for the string of conference championships.
