The end is nothing; the road is all.
-- Jules Michelet
As I type this I can't see outside my house (sheltering in place but evacuation ready right now) for all the smoke.
Calfire
is completely overwhelmed. The famous Napa/Sonoma wine regions are devastated and the city of Santa Rosa is unrecognizable. At its worst, with wind speeds up to 60 mph, the fire was moving 100 yards (a football field) every three seconds.
There is hope. KU hoops is less than three weeks away, however I might need to visit Wheatie to watch some games!

AH Geez, Bay! Take care. I was supposed to go to Rohnert Park on Sunday for a meeting. Sonoma State University is closed (in Rohnert Park) until Monday. My co-worker and I decided that the LAST thing Sonoma County needs right now is a bunch of people who have NOTHING TO DO with rescue or public safety in the way.
Be safe my friend. You and your Cal Bear spouse are welcome....The TV will no doubt be tuned to one of my 10,000 cable stations which is bound to carry KUBB. Once he stops hissing.....Cosmo loves company!

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
You and GB don’t take any chances and get the hell out if told. Anna and I so sad at what is happening there. Loss of life is tragic, and the region is one of our favorite places in the country.
Be careful, amigo!

Please take good care! I have been watching the news reports feeling so bad for the residents in such a large area.
We are all hoping for your safety!

My thoughts and prayers are with all our friends being affected by these fires. Please stay safe Bay. Luckily my daughter is out of state right now but her friends have told her they have taken to wearing face masks because of the ashes in the air. PLEASE be more than careful!!!!
