...but the guy is bloody ambitious for KU and ain't sitting on his laurels.
He is bringing in big bucks and big donors like never before.

$191M adidas contract to benefit all programs (Jon Kirby at Rivals reports it puts KU in the Top 5 nationwide for sports apparel contracts. Hopefully this is an open article: kansas.rivals.com/news/zenger-announces-...p-five-in-the-nation .

Kickoff of the $350M "Raise the Chant" campaign, focused primarily on football
$50M, largest single donation for KU Athletics in its history, from David ("Original Rules") Booth to jumpstart the program.
$10M from the Horejsi family to build a new 3000 seat volleyball arena to replace 1300 seat Horejsi Family Athletic Center.

Zounds and gadzooks!

If Beaty ever starts winning FB games, Zenger is going to be second only to Self in athletics status on campus -- and perhaps third all time behind Self and Phog (not necessarily in that order, although another NC might get Self that #1 spot).

I will say this -- this kind of program and money can only help recruiting in all sports, but especially FB, volleyball and hoops.

ROCK CHALK! JAYHAWK! KU!
